Sun Stand Still by Steven Furtick

Does the brand of faith you live by produce the kinds of results in your life that you read about in the biblical stories of men and women of faith? Chances are, not even close.” But it doesn’t have to stay that way. In Sun Stand Still, Steven Furtick challenges you to believe that the audacious faith that we see in the Bible, the faith that caused a man to pray and see the sun stand still in the sky, is the same faith we can claim for ourselves today. This is more than just another book. It’s a call to all of us to begin living the life of audacity God has created and saved us for.

This book is definitely not for the wimpy guy.  This book is real and in your face.  Pastor Steven Furtick does not hold back.  This book made me, a work at home mother of 3, realize that I can pray with vigor and strength because my God is the same God that made the Sun Stand Still and I can do all things!! This book will also have your heart reeling with conviction if you are not doing what you know God wants you to be doing.  This book will make you look at your life now and whats ahead because from this day forward you will only want to pray Sun Stand Still kind of prayers.

Pastor Furtick is the founder and Senior Pastor at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC.   The tittle of the book comes from a passage in the Old Testament describing a highly unusual event. Joshua prayed and God caused the sun to stand still for a full extra day.   The theme of the book can be summed up in two words: audacious faith. Furtick’s clear goal is to encourage us to trust God to do powerful things through us, to awake a sense of vision “lying dormant inside you for years. In short, I’m out to activate your audacious faith. To inspire you to ask God for the impossible. And in the process, to reconnect you with your God-sized purpose and potential.”  ~ Steven Furtick
