Pamela Settle founded Light Shine Media, LLC, in 2010. Her first project was to create and produce GoodLiving® Magazine, a glossy print magazine for her community in Florida, home to Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
GoodLiving® Magazine, her original concept, has been in print since 2010, serving families with quality content and local resources for raising a happy and healthy family.
Her goal is to inspire and celebrate healthier and more meaningful living by shining a light on the positive, the authentic and the useful. “As a young girl, I dreamed of moving to New York and being an editor of a big magazine. I didn’t realize then that print could also have a strong local focus and that I could make a positive impact right where I live. This way I can be editor and publisher, and make my own rules!”
Before starting her own company, Pamela spent more than twenty years in marketing communications, public relations, advocacy and non-profit management. Most recently she served as Vice President of Marketing for United Way of Tampa Bay and Marketing Manager for Pinellas County Government, where she earned the Governor’s Award for the “Know Your Zone” hurricane preparedness program and the county’s official hurricane guide.
She is active in the community, participating with non-profit organizations, government agencies, educational organizations, networking groups, business organizations and the faith community – all with the core purpose of being a positive part of the solution. While she advocates for all things good, she has particular interest in healthy food for families, increasing physical activity, prevention of drug use and drunk driving and inspiring other people to be advocates for change.
Pamela has a degree in journalism from San Diego State University. She is married and combines her work with motherhood, making her part of the mompreneur movement.
